Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Albumi ("we", "us") runs private event albums at albumi.lol and app.albumi.lol. Hosts upload event photos, and guests take a selfie so we can find the photos they appear in. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google email address and name. We do not receive your Google password.
- Selfies: the selfie a guest takes to find their photos, and the email address they give us to receive them.
- Event photos: photos a host or their photographer uploads to an album.
- Face data:to match guests to photos, our face-matching provider creates numeric face descriptions from the faces in an album's photos and compares a guest's selfie against them. These descriptions are kept per album and are only used to find photos inside that album.
- Payment details:when a host buys an album package, our payment provider receives the host's name, email, and phone number. Card details go directly to the payment provider. We never see or store them.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and actions in the app, which we collect through analytics and server logs.
How we use it
- To create your account, sign you in, and send sign-in codes and links.
- To match guests' selfies to the photos they appear in and deliver their private gallery.
- To email album updates, such as when your photos are ready.
- To process payments for album packages.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems, and understand how it is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos or face data for advertising.
Face matching and consent
Guests choose to take a selfie. Taking one means you agree to us comparing it with the photos in that album. Hosts confirm that they have the right to upload their event photos and that the people in them know the photos will be used for face matching. If you appear in an album and do not want to be matched, contact us and we will remove your data from that album.
Who can see photos
Hosts can see all the photos in their album, and the selfie, name, and email of each guest who joins. Guests see only the photos they were matched to. Photos are served through long, unguessable links. Anyone who has a photo's link can open it, so only share links with people you trust.
Service providers
We share data only with service providers that help us run Albumi:
- Cloud providers that host our servers, store photos, and run face matching.
- A payment processor, for album package payments.
- An email delivery provider.
- Analytics and error-tracking tools that help us improve the app.
- Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google".
Some of these providers process data outside Egypt, including in the United States.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
Google user data
When you sign in with Google, we only request your basic profile and email address, and we use them only to sign you in and identify your account. Albumi's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep data
We keep your account, albums, photos, selfies, and face data until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept only as long as we need them to run and secure the service.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, including your account, your selfies, an album and its face data, or data about you in someone else's album. Email hello@albumi.lol from the address on your account, and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and photos are stored encrypted in private storage. No service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Children
Albumi accounts are not meant for children under 16. Events often include children, so hosts are responsible for having permission to upload photos of anyone who appears in them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will tell you by email or in the app.
